Tape Craft Corporation, a manufacture of webbings, is another YKK company within the North and Central America region, which is committed to eliminating waste and preventing pollution in order to protect the environment.  Located within Oxford, Alabama, the company has a comprehensive recycling program which helps the company to minimize its footprint on its community by reducing the amount of waste that ends up in a landfill.  Cardboard waste at Tape Craft is collected and bailed to be picked up by a waste company.  Different types of bins are located throughout the facility to collect paper (catalogs, print, or shredded materials).  Once the paper bins are full, the distribution manager takes them to a recycling center.  Maintenance collects and preps any scrap metal generated at Tape Craft, which is sold to a metal recycler.  Other waste materials including chemicals, florescent and high-intensity bulbs, batteries, used oil, and medical waste may contain substances that are harmful to our health and to the environment.  Such waste is highly controlled and is recycled through specialized recyclers.

Tape Craft employees also work hard to minimize or eliminate any poor quality webbing.  The amount of Tape Craft’s waste webbing has been steadily decreasing each year.  When off quality webbing is generated, it is collected and measured at the point where it was identified.  The company tries to reuse it internally in its processes when possible.  Waste webbing that must be discarded is collected and shipped to companies which will repurpose it for different applications including furniture, field turf, resin, etc.
