Due to the good administrative management of its company clinic, YKK El Salvador was chosen as one of the top 10 national dental clinics in El Salvador by the Itinerant Dental Clinic Program of the Salvadoran Social Security Institute.

On August 11, 2017, the director general of the Salvadoran Institute of Social Security (ISSS), Dr. Ricardo Cea, officially launched the project, “Dental Care in Business Clinics through an Itinerant Team.”

This project will bring free oral health care services directly to employees at their places of work during the work day.  Such a program will prevent employees from having to go to ISSS care centers and being absent for long periods of time from their work, as well as being unable to keep scheduled dental appointments due to work reasons.

The itinerant team will consist of a general dentist and a dental assistant who will offer diagnosis, prophylaxis, amalgam and resin fillings, uncomplicated exodontias and a referral service to care centers when it is warranted.

Dental care at YKK El Salvador began on August 8, 2017, and so far 107 employees have been treated.  The YKK clinic is working out with the ISSS the possibility that this service is active every six months for employees.
